As a Senior Agronomist, you will act on botanical supply-chain projects in multiple locations around the world, in the context of Taste and Well-being and Fragrance and Beauty Ingredients industries.
In this exciting role you will build, implementing, monitoring, improving, and reporting on a pipe of Raw Material Projects, in connection with several team members, from Research to Business, through Procurement. You will report to the Head of Agronomy, part of the Procurement Origination team, based in Avignon, France.
Your future position?
The Senior Agronomist is leading and contributing to projects within natural raw material supply-chains that bring value. These projects are targeting a pool of strategic botanicals that are prioritized by the organization for their high benefits and the challenges arising from their sourcing.
Operating on these supply-chains projects requires knowledge of “applied agronomy” to botanicals, including specific skills related to plant material selection schemes and breeding methodology.
You are comfortable with field work and project and partner management, in a diverse environment, at the crossing of research and science, raw material procurement, ingredient processing and business development.
In the context of botanical specialty supply-chains projects set up in a multicultural environment, you have to be curious. You must demonstrate a leadership profile.
We ask that you understand smallholder farming context and a interest for responsible farming practices that preserve people and nature, aligned with the purpose of the company.
The scope of the position is Global, with projects monitored around the world, field and business trips may represent up to +/- 30% of the time.
In this exciting role, you manage:
- Landscaping and establishing supply-chain diagnosis through literature and field trips
- Defining Project scope, deliverable and timeline, in connection with Business expectations
- Proposing actions, assessing feasibility, elaborating budget and resource needs, promoting the project for approval
- Implementing agreed activities within supply-chain, in collaboration with your partners, suppliers, and possibly 3rd party
- Monitoring, analyzing, and reporting on progress vs. goals defined
A Master’s Degree or higher in Agronomy / Agriculture, with a specialization in Plant Material - Variety Selection and Breeding
10+ years of relevant experience in field agronomy within different industries, including fruit & veg and aromatic, medicinal, and fragrance botanicals; a significant experience in the seed industry would be much appreciated
Project Management skills and methodology, in diverse environments and matricial organization
Experience in collaborative work with diverse cultures
